How much can we consider this little nautical narrative to be part of the design of the lamps themselves ?

I see very little connection myself. Did you enjoy the imaginary letter?

Not a great deal.. it felt perhaps a little indulgent, self-involved. Either that, or it strangely came off as a bit designed to make this relatively simple object carry the depth of its creators’ personal history and ruminations. There is undeniably some beauty in it, and I feel the passion of its author, but I feel strange about the presentation stylistically perhaps. In general though I suppose I would enioy more impressionistic writing being placed in more contexts, and this certainly meets that description.
